Park's most important goal is to protect the first hills of the Brianza area, which are located in the north of Milan. It can be considered as an extraordinary natural and landscape heritage made of woods, open fields, little plateaus and short water courses. Thanks to the park's extension in the territory of Casatenovo it will soon be possible to build an ecological corridor connecting the Protected Areas of Vimercatese, the Regional Park of Montevecchia, the San Genesio Park and the park of Monte Barro up to the Lecco lake.
