The area of the aviaries is situated above the town of Andreis: they house many species of birds, like hawks, kestrels, buzzards, tawny owls, sparrow hawks, a goshawk and a golden eagle. Some of them have injuries which do not allow them to be free. The Visitor Center houses the exhibit on the Park Avifauna and an ornithological exhibit with different bird species on display.
"The Park Avifauna" and its relationships with the environment and man are the main issues of this Visitor Center. The Center houses an exhibit, a didactic hall, and a hall for projections and conferences. The Park Avifauna Center, housing a Bird Recovery Center, is adjacent to Andreis Visitor Center.
The exhibit dedicated to avifauna - inaugurated in 2001 - is very interesting and includes an ornithological collection of over 200 specimens representing the various bird species living not only in the Park, but also in the whole Region.
The Avifauna Center in Andreis is one of the structures of Dolomiti Friulane Park.
It includes a didactic hall, a naturalistic lab, the naturalistic trails of Mt. Cjavac, Colle di San Daniele, the aviaries for the recovery of injured birds, and the ambulatory vet clinic.
