Dolomiti Friulane Regional Park is part of the western mountain area dominating the upper plain of Friuli. It lies between the rivers Tagliamento and Piave. The area is characterized by the wilderness of its large valleys which present nor main roads or villages and stretch among the Dolomitic peaks. "Biodiversity" (extremely diversified presence of flora and fauna) is an important aspect of the park which is favored by the differences in height, by the particular geographical position, and by the climate.
