Typology: outward itinerary
Trail marker: 107 AG
Valle di Fossi is one of the many charming corners of the Park. With cultivated undulating hills behind it, after closing the precious casket of Valle Scappuccia, the shady mantel of conifers covering almost all the western slope of the overhanging Mt. Predicatore will appear to you. The lake and the campsite are charming too. The itinerary is a short stretch of Giano Ring-route and offers many possibilities if you combine the two large parallel tracks cutting, from north to south, the upper section of the pinewood.
From the lake, towards Case i Fossi, after 200 meters on the right, you will find a crossroads with trail marker 107AG. Once you find the first large track, turn right, go beyond a wooden house on the right, not far from the trail and, with bends, go uphill until you meet the second large track. On the left, follow the track becoming flat, towards the north. Follow a large sheep track which, with bends, leads to the upper section of the pinewood and then in the broadleaf tree woodland, and back again in the pinewood and, along the flat sheep track, back to the woodland. Once you start sighting the pass, leave trail marker 107AG and take, on the right, the trail towards the south quickly leading to Mt. Predicatore.
