Environmental Education Program - School Years 2020/2023
The Parco Valle del Torrente Lura Consortium and the Parco Sorgenti del Torrente Lura propose for the 2020/2023 school years various educational courses aimed at local schools with the collaboration of Koinè Cooperativa Sociale Onlus of Novate Milanese (MI).
The environmental educational activities are aimed at schools of all grades and diversified for kindergartens, primary schools, middle schools and secondary schools.
The new environmental educational project, "Uniti per Nature (United by Nature"), proposes training for the kidergartens teachers dedicated to educate in nature, thus facilitating the teachers' autonomy in planning activities in the Park for their classes.
Primary and secondary school classes are instead involved in an annual competition for the design and realisation of a theme game that develops one of the 8 themes, described here below, linked to the features of the Park territory.
Activities with classes are developed in paths divided into:
- Teacher training, during which teachers receive the theoretical information, tools and materials to start the path with the class
- Outing in the Park, an essential momento to gather information, suggestions and data that can be useful for realising the final product
- Classroom metting, during which the class is accompanied to the realisation of the final product.
Secondary schools, on the other hand, will be involved in the creation of information panels on the Park to be placed in the territory of the Consortium's municipalities, creating a convergence of objectives with the work of the other schools, both primary and secondary.
In agreement with the teachers, it will be possible to activate Pathways for Transversal Skills and Orientation.
How to access the service
For schools within the Consortium municipalities, the courses are free of charge until the number of hours available is reached. One educator for every 25 people is guaranteed and, in any case, one educator for every class. Dates and appointments are agreed with the Koinè secretariat, while the venue is agreed during the training.
In case of rain, the educators will contact the teacher on the morning of the outing to agree on a postponement or an alternative activity. In case of cancellation, the communication should be made at least 24 hours in advance.
