Mt. Barro, entirely enclosed by the homonymous regional park, is situated near Lecco, in the south-west of Grigne. It is delimited by the eastern edge of the Lake of Como, by the Lake of Annone, by the Lake of Garlate, and by Galbiate Pass. A calcareous-dolomitic mountain of 922 meters of height, completely isolated by the surrounding mountains and directly facing the upper plain, it represents an outpost of Prealpi Lombarde towards the Po Plain. The park is a Site of Community Importance, that is one of the European areas of greatest importance for the nature conservation.
