Casermetta Forestale (the Forest Barracks)

Casermetta Forestale (the Forest Barracks), situated within the Park, was built in the 1930s by the "Forest Troops". It was a partisan base during the war of liberation and after the war was used by the National Forest Service until 1985, year in which it was given to the Municipality.
The Municipal Administration prepared a project to recover and reuse the structure, partly financed by Provincia di Torino, and at the moment the premises house both Casa del Parco and a welcome center organizing educational, naturalistic, and cultural activities dedicated to Schools, Associations, and citizens. Meetings, celebrations, and events are held in the Center, which also represents the logistic base used by the Park surveillance staff (Agenti Provinciali and Guardie Ecologiche Volontarie).
