Following heavy rainfall and the subsequent worsening of rockfall conditions, the Via dell'Amore will remain closed in the coming days to allow for essential technical inspections. This decision follows a precautionary closure due to recent weather alerts, as rock material, loosened by the recent severe weather, detached last weekend and was initially stopped by the protective rockfall netting.

The intense rains of recent hours, with an orange weather alert (the highest level for thunderstorms), have led to the collapse of the netting, causing accumulated material to slide downhill. This also resulted in a large rock impacting and partially damaging the rockfall gallery.

As per protocol for a weather alert, the trail was already scheduled to remain closed. However, thanks to ongoing monitoring measures implemented last week to ensure the safety of the trail and its users, the situation was immediately reported.

Starting from Monday, October 28, 2024, all necessary technical inspections will be conducted to assess the restoration work required, after which decisions regarding reopening will be made.
