Villa Binotto inaugurated its photovoltaic roof
(05 Jun 10) Under the wonderful sun of a very hot month of June, the photovoltaic roof of the Park Authority Head Offices of Villa Binotto in Feltre was inaugurated.
In front of a number of local administrators and the representatives of Dolomiti Bellunesi National Park, the mayor of Feltre sen. Gianvittore Vaccari and the Park Authority Commissioner prof. Benedetto Fiori, inaugurated the latest measure of the "fossil free" project carried out by the Park.
In a few years, from photovoltaic energy to solar thermal energy, from biomass to micro hydro power, Dolomiti Bellunesi have become one of the most active Italian protected areas in the promotion of the use of renewable sources of energy.
The photovoltaic roof of Villa Binotto has a power output of 5.4 kW, inclined of 15 degrees towards the sun; the photovoltaic modules are pointed south-east, with a potential annual production of 6,010 kWh, avoiding the production of 3,200 kilos of carbon dioxide.
