It includes the slope of Alpi Orobie chain lying in the province of Bergamo, characterized by mountains between the 2,000 and 3,000 meters of altitude and by deep valleys feeding the main local rivers. The woodlands represent, for size and richness, one of the most precious aspects of the Park and include, at different altitudes, Beech tree woods, Spruce and Silver Fir woods, Larch woods, grasslands and high-mountain grazing lands, up to the rocky and nival areas. The presence of the characteristic alpine fauna is of great interest, also with species of particular value like the Ptarmigan and the Golden Eagle. The Ibex has been recently reintroduced.
