The mycological hall situated in the premises of the former church Santi Simone e Giuda, in loc. Valle di Colorina, suggests a route called 'Appunti di Micologia' (Mycology Notes): the route consists of a series of panels aiming at promoting a more global and scientific mycological approach through clear but at the same time rigorous advice and ideas regarding systematics and classification, physiology, reproduction, main features, research activities, edibility, toxicity, and the habitats of the most widespread families. These Notes demonstrate how variegated, many-sided, and complex mycology is, but they also reveal the richness and charm of these small but not secondary inhabitants of the forest. The exhibit is completed by precious resin specimens and, according to the season, it is also possible to find stalls with dry mushrooms.
