Park's territory includes a large area whose most important core corresponds to the "Pianalto di Romanengo", namely the remaining area of an ancient level of the Po valley. This morphologic relief is about 10 meters above the basic level of the plain. Park's area is rich in landscape, nature and structural features which are very particular and even unique in the whole province's territory. From the hydrographic point of view the area is very rich too thanks to the presence of many artificial canals (called "navigli") such as the Naviglio Civico di Cremona, the Naviglio Pallavicino, the Naviglio di Melotta, and of other water courses as well as springs. The fauna is also very important and can be preserved thanks to the environment's good quality and diversity: in fact there are many forests, lined with trees belts, the hedges and the rows.
