Environmental Education Programs for the School Year 2009/2010

Over the years the Park, also with the help of the Park Points, has carried out several environmental education activities and, for the school year 2009-2010, it offers a coherent information and environmental education project dedicated to schools, but also to people in general.
As far as information and promotional activities, it suggests the participation of 32 Park Points: these are places providing information and promotional material on the initiatives of the Park. Their main aim is to "bring" the Park to people in known and busy places, as well as to open a new and direct communication and participation canal thanks to their presence in the territory. As a matter of fact, they are situated at the gates of Milan or "scattered" throughout the countryside, strategic and easily accessible places. Moreover, they are situated in already existing structures used for purposes in harmony with the Park goals.
Here people can find information on the cultural, artistic, historical, agricultural, and environmental heritage of the area surrounding Milan.

The network of the Park Points offers different services:

• information desk with promotional material
• events
• bike rental
  
• direct sale of the products coming from the local agricultural holdings

Project Goals

The project aims at implementing environmental education activities through the development of four topics:

• landscape and territory
  
• climate and energy
• history and architecture
  
• diet and agriculture

Particular attention is paid to the relationships that each topic, and therefore condition developing it, can activate in the field.
