The initiatives of Parco del Taro for the European Day of Parks
27th and 28th May 2006
On the occasion of the European Day of Parks, Parco fluviale Regionale del Taro suggests a weekend rich in initiatives.
The two days will be characterized by proposals dedicated to two different targets: on Saturday there will be initiatives dedicated to people working in the field, that is more "technical" initiatives, while the day of Sunday will be dedicated to people of any age loving the Park as a place where they can relax and have fun.
We will begin on Saturday 27th with the appointment "It's Spring for Biodiversity": an open meeting to exchange information, give suggestions, and commit oneself to the halt the decline of biodiversity. The initiative is suggested by Assessorato Turismo, Parchi e Biodiversità of the Province of Parma, in collaboration with Parco fluviale Regionale del Taro. The meeting will be held in the headquarters of the Province in P.le della Pace 1 from 9.30 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. and will be an occasion to start an alliance between subjects subscribing tangible actions with the aim to promote new births in the territory of Parma (as it says the subtitle of the meeting).
Always on Saturday 27th, Parco del Taro will be present in the stall of the Protected Areas of the Province of Parma; here you will find information on the trails, structures, and activities of the regional reserve, and you will find qualified staff answering to your questions and curiosities.
Sunday 28th May will be dedicated to rich proposals for adults and children, making the afternoon special and "animated"!
If you love sport in the open air, the Park suggests two different tours by bike: one in the area of the small lakes of Medesano, in collaboration with the local AVIS group, and the other leaving from Fornovo Taro and arriving at Corte di Giarola, in collaboration with the Local Tourist Boards of Fornovo.
In Giarola, the big medieval courtyard housing the Park Authority headquarters, the Afternoon with the Park of Tastes will be held: a rich and animated program from 4.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m. promoting local products and activities. The initiative is suggested by Parco del Taro and by the Association of the Companies linked to the territory: agriculture, plants, genuine tastes and fun will be the ingredients of this afternoon, with stands of the products, tasting, information on flowers, and animation with clowns, jugglers, and music.
During the afternoon, from 3.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m., the Park Visitor Center will be open, with the trail "Sotto il segno dell'acqua" giving the opportunity to discover the various aspects of the Fluvial Park stimulating sight, touch, smell, hearing… to remember that a Park is a world very rich in facets!
