The Parco Locale di Interesse Sovracomunale P.L.I.S. (Local Park extending over many municipalities) of the Lambro Meridionale and Ticinello has been officially recognized by the Province of Pavia in 2009. It includes about 616 hectares on a surface extending over the municipalities of Siziano, Vidigulfo and Torrevecchia Pia, along the banks of the water courses Lambro meridionale and Ticinello. The entomological park mainly consists of cultivated lands, forests and environments with more natural features and herbaceous vegetation. In Park's territory there are both agricultural testimonies, such as ancient farmhouses, and biotopes such as groves of bulrushes, alders and typical trees of the wetlands where some animal species are protected, such as the large copper (a rare butterfly, almost extinct in most of Europe), the black-winged stilt, the common kingfisher and the western marsh harrier.
