Situated in San Feliciano (Magione), the Fishing Museum documents the language, history, and life of Trasimeno Lake through what has been for centuries the main activity carried out by its people: Fishing. It is one of the very rare structures able to attract the attention of the visitors on the issues linked to this profession, through the discovery of what could be called the culture of water. The collection illustrates the fishing methods - 44 - through the objects used every day by fishermen and focuses in particular on the production activity considering the historical, social, and environmental contexts.
Each room is named after one of the parts of the day that constitute fishermen's workday: dawn, midday, afternoon and evening. The Museum's structure has a video and multimedia room with the seats shaped as the typical large boats holding up to 40 spectators.
It also has modern multimedia equipments for video showing and video-conferences. The structure is also used for didactic activities, events and meetings organized within the Museum with the aim to encourage the knowledge and the dialogue about the themes and the artistic and cultural dynamics livening up the Magione territory and the Trasimeno Lake.
A rich photographic archive completes the collection.
