Within the floodplain cultivations alternate with black poplars and willows, and strips of shrublands with purple willow and false indigo, where in autumn the yellow heads of the Jerusalem artichoke (Helianthus tuberosus) stand out.
Facing the river bank near the sighting tower, one can admire the wide dry riverbed of the Trebbia, and on the opposite bank the entrance holes of the bee-eaters' nests can also be seen.
