Gianduiotti | Definition The famous Gianduiotto is a slice-shaped or overturned boat-shaped chocolate, obtained from a mixture of cocoa, sugar, and the famous round hazelnuts of Piedmont, renowned for their fine quality and taste. Its brown color varies according to the cocoa mixtures used, while its characteristic shape derives from ancient processing methods.
- Production Area: The production area includes the whole Piedmont, but it is a characteristic chocolate of Turin.
- History: Born in 1865, Gianduiotto is known today all over the world, where it promotes the knowledge of the town of Turin.
- Legislative Protection: Gianduiotto is classified among the "Traditional Agri-foodstuffs of Regione Piemonte", according to art. 8 of the Legislative Decree 30th April 1998, n. 173 and the Annex to the Decisions of the Regional Council 15th April 2002 n. 46-5823.
