Bosco di Malabotta: A Monument of Nature

Where in Italy Riserva Naturale Orientata Bosco di Malabotta
Bosco di Malabotta is a woodland par excellence, even if it should be considered a forest for its natural features. It has a great ecological value, not only for its integrity, but also for its great environmental diversity, given to the extension of the reserve in altitude. From a geomorphological point of view, in the central-northern section of the area, the clayey-arenaceous sediments dominate and the silhouette of the mountains is gentle and regular; on the contrary, in the southern part, the presence of conglomerates and calcareous rocks explains the presence of crags like those of Pizzo Castelluzzo, Serra Castagna, Pizzo Daniele, and Pizzo Galera. In the reserve there are different habitats: woodland, grassland, torrential wetlands, and rocky environments.
