Lowland sedge mire on an area subjected to glacial erosion situated by a small saddle near the municipal (and also provincial) border with Anterivo, not very far from the built-up area itself (less than 2 km).
In the northeastern side the area features a beautiful larch forest developing much farther than the area's borders.
