In Val Grande National Park. Characteristic pre-alpine environment with steep and notched summits.
Area rich in springs with a frequently uneven orography; geologically characterized by the presence of gneiss, tabular orthogneiss, and diorite rocks. The dominating forest formations consist of rather young beech tree forests.
Silver fir and alpine shrub formations with Green Alder, Cranberry, and Rhododendrons are widespread. Among the animals, we can find chamois, mountain hare, stoat, pine marten, golden eagle, goshawk, black woodpecker.
