Casa del Parco of Decima Malafede Nature Reserve lies within Perna Tower (11th century). The Tower, that has been probably named after a woman (Perna was a very widespread female name in the Middle Ages), has been recently renovated by the Town Department and RomaNatura Park Authority.
The upper floors are dedicated to conferences, exhibits, and training courses. From the last floor, where an ancient loft with a barn owl nest has been reproduced, it is possible to admire a 360° landscape of the Roman Countryside, characterized by small forests alternating with plain areas crossed by ditches, used for breeding and agricultural purposes.
The structure also houses the operation offices of RomaNatura Park Keepers.
