Downy Oak woods are the last remains of the woodlands which once covered the local hills, between Basso Acquese and Alessandrino zones. Among local interesting elements, we must mention the presence of Erica arborea (Tree Heath), a Mediterranean-Atlantic species growing here in its northernmost distribution area.
