Many large open bogs and pine forests

Kauhaneva-Pohjankangas National Park is an interesting complex on the boundary of South Ostrobothnia and Satakunta Regions. The landscape can be clearly divided into two parts; the barren dry forests dominated by the Pine (Pinus sylvestris), and the many large open bogs, the most remarkable of which is Kauhaneva Mire.
The park is suitable for short trips. There is a 2 km duckboard loop round the Lake Kauhalammi. For observing birds and the landscape there is a tower on the northern side of the lake, on the edge of mire.
