The name Tiveden comes from the Norse god Ti (also named Tyr) and ved (firewood), which means forest. Tiveden National Park is a large tract of evergreen forest with deep fissure valleys, chaotic expanses of huge boulders, and a powerful sense of wilderness. Located near the heart of southern Sweden, the park offers the opportunity to experience a fascinating natural setting, and to wander through a beautiful forest landscape of many lakes.
