In the site there are rare species connected with the traditional agricultural systems which are disappearing. It is also a stop and reproduction area for long-distance migratory species and reproduction habitat for thermophil species in regression on the Alps. It is noteworthy the presence of the habitat 6210 Semi-natural dry grasslands and scrubland facies on calcareous substrates (Festuco-Brometalia) which is acknowledged as priority habitat due to the presence of a wonderful orchid flowering.
