Among the bird species, the presence in the reproductive period of Kingfisher (Alcedo atthis), Little bittern (Ixobrychus minutus) and Red-backed shrike (Lanius collurio) should be noted. Recently there has been an increase in observations of Pygmy cormorant (Phalacrocorax pygmeus), an entity that is increasing throughout north-eastern Italy. The most open environments and peat bogs contain individuals of Hen harrier (Circus cyaneus) and Montagu’s harrier (Circus pygargus) in the feeding phase.
