A stretch of the river Tevere nature is appropriating

The Portected Area of Local Interest Golene del Tevere lies below the Montedoglio dam and occupies a stretch of the river Tevere, as well as other lands which are periodically flooded by the river waters. These alluvial plains are indeed called "golene" (meaning "floodplains").
