E-mail: info@csn.prato.itA multipurpose structure situated in Monteferrato Protected Area of Local Interest, it carries out several research projects and activities for the defense of the environment, like wildlife recovery, didactic activities and environmental education activities, scientific activities, etc. It houses a natural science museum, a park with free animals, a planetary and astronomical observatory, the relief model of the Protected Area of Local Interest (ANPIL), a reptile area, and sculptures made with "Prato green marble" (19th century and modern sculptures). One section is dedicated to the Mousterian Paleolithic Industry of Galceti with paleethnologic finds from 40,000 to 10,000 years ago found in the Mousterian Paleolithic Station. During the year, it organizes several events aiming at enhancing, promoting, and arousing attention on the rich territory and its surrounding flora, fauna, and vegetation.
