The hills situated in north of Campiglia Marittima tell the story of a wide mining territory rich in copper, lead and silver deposits. On foot or with a little train particularly loved by children the tourists will live the unique experience to visit the mines and the places where metals were worked according to activities which stretched over a period going from the Etrurian age until 1976. The route inside the mine (where the temperature ranges from 13° to 14° degrees Celsius) and that with the train represent an amusing and different way to "live history". The heart of the park is Rocca San Silvestro - a medieval village where miners and foundry workers lived - which offers a unique itinerary thanks to the ruins of the houses, the church, the cemetery, the upper class area and the industrial one. Bright and proud, careless of the wind lashing, Rocca San Silvestro towers above the surrounding land proudly keeping its "piece" of history.
