The Paullo area and the Fiumicello stream is of considerable interest because it is a particularly homogeneous landscape area, characterized by the outcrop of a powerful sandstone formation (the "Ranzano sandstones") more or less cemented, covered in the surrounding territory by intensely clayey layers cultivated (formations of "Viano sandstones" or "marls of Piano Mount").
