Naturalistic Museum in Carcoforo

Among the institutional aims of a protected area like Alta Valsesia Park the main one is to work as a cultural operator, and therefore to promote the knowledge of nature and the ecosystems of the territory involved. As a matter of fact, the safeguard of the territory is the direct consequence of the biocenosis dynamics involving the protected area.
In order to reach this aim, Alta Valsesia Park decided in 1994 to create in Carcoforo a Naturalistic Museum which also works as a visitor center and information point.
This structure is situated within an ancient wooden house in Fraz. Tetto Minocco. In this way, besides the creation of a Museum with specific aims, one of the few still existing wooden houses has been recovered, in order to maintain an evidence of the ancient walser origins of Carcoforo.
