The trail is part of the Great Traverse of the Alps (G.T.A.) and, since it is a passage between two valleys, it is possible to go along it with various differences in height and walking time, leaving both from Val Mastallone and from Rimella.
Without a doubt, the easiest route leaves from Belvedere di Fobello country hamlet, with a favorable exposure at 1,200m of height.
Following the trail marked with the symbol "G.T.A.", you will reach in about 25 minutes Alpe la Res (1,419m). The place deserves a stop to admire the surrounding landscape including, at the same time, two adjacent deep valleys: as a matter of fact, Alpe la Res lies on a large pass in the ridge dividing Val Mastallone from Landwasser deep valley.
