Colli di Bergamo Park is situated in the province of Bergamo and includes the Municipalities of Almé, Bergamo, Mozzo, Paladina, Ponteranica, Ranica, Sorisole, Torre Boldone, Valbrembo, Villa d'Almé. It covers an area of about 4,700 hectares, situated between the 244 and 1,146 meters of height. Established in 1977 to meet the need to safeguard and enhance the balance between nature and men (L.R. n. 36 of 18th August 1977), it is the third regional park after Ticino and Groane parks. The area within the perimeter of the Park presents very different environments, going from the hill to the mountains. It is a territory with rather heterogeneous physical and morphological features, enclosing both natural and architectural beauties of great value, like for instance Giongo Reserve or the historical town center of Città Alta.

The territory is rich in woodlands, cultivations of various kind like vineyards, vegetable gardens, wheat and corn fields, terraced slopes, bird snares, ancient urban settlements, roads and trails of historical origin, monasteries, churches, fortresses, rural buildings, villas and gardens, natural and artificial watercourses, springs. Moreover, there are several varieties of local flora and fauna.

The ancient Benedictine monastery of Valmarina, recently restored, houses the new headquarters of Consorzio Parco dei Colli di Bergamo.
The ancient monastery is situated in the small valley called Valmarina,
towards the location Ramera in the Municipality of Bergamo,
characterized by a charming landscape made of terraced meadows and
cultivated fields.
Evidences of a female Benedictine monastery and of the relative church dedicated to S.Benedetto date back to the year 1150.
