Parco Naturale Regionale Dune Costiere da Torre Canne a Torre San Leonardo

It is a small and round tomato variety, with limited water needs, harvested in summer and consumed until late winter; the thick peel (due to the salty water) makes this variety parasite resistant and suitable to a long conservation in bunches - called "ramasole" - manually tied with a cotton thread and hung up. The name ("Regina", meaning "Queen") comes from its calyx which, developing, assumes the aspect of a small crown.
