5-Fountains Walk

From the Belvedere, or viewpoint, of Civitella del Lago, go through the Orvietana Door, then follow the ring road, until you join the so-called "5-Fountains Walk", a wonderful stroll in the city that starts from the Pozzarello Fountain and the Nova Fountain (18th century) and leads you to another three fountains; among them, the age-old "Teole" were directly built into the rock. The walk then goes on along the road stretching under the Belvedere; a few metres further, you will find a 16th century well; the road in the north-west of the village will lead you to two more recent wells. From there, take the unsurfaced road that leads to a junction; turn left on the main road, until you get to the Madonna del Prato Church, that shelters 14 paintings of the Way of the Cross made by contemporary artists. It will soon be possible to add to this tourist route a visit to the Museum of the Painted Eggs, which is still on preparation.
