This trail follows a segment of the middle Basento River along the northeastern edge of the Park. It begins near the Calciano junction on the SS 407 Basentana and climbs gently to the municipal cemetery of Calciano, close to the village center. The area features a wide riverbed with riparian forests, humid depressions, badlands, and agricultural landscapes. It is a habitat for herons and storks and is home to the rare European otter.
