Music and songs of the Occitan tradition of Susa Upper Valley

Collection of the proceedings of the meeting held at Colombano Romean Ecomuseum ed. 2011 with speeches dedicated to band music in Susa Upper Valley and to the history of the local music bands, musical instruments, local Occitan dances and songs, children's nursery rhymes and songs, and the possibility to use them for new didactic proposals.

The cahier comes from the idea to dedicate the traditional annual meeting organized by Colombano Romean Ecomuseum in collaboration with the Cultural Association ArTeMuDa to the music tradition of Dora Riparia Upper Valley. Therefore, the proceedings of the meeting have been published into a new volume of the Ecomuseum collecting the various speeches dedicated to band music in the upper valley and to the history of the local music bands, musical instruments, local Occitan dances and songs, children's nursery rhymes and songs, and the possibility to use them for new didactic proposals. The cahier includes a CD containing an unpublished collection of traditional Occitan music and songs recorded for the occasion by: Banda Musicale Alta Valle Susa, Trobairitz d'Oc, Parenaperde, Daniele Contardo with the actors of the Theater Research Permanent Workshop of Salbertrand.
