Inside the Park there are also fortified structures built between 1938 and 1942 and in most cases never completed, belonging to the so-called "Vallo Alpino", planned according to Mussolini's will and built before World War II to protect the Italian border from the neighboring countries (France, Switzerland, Austria, and Yugoslavia).
Three bunkers on Mt. Genevris, two bunkers looking like mountain huts in Monfol, fortified structures built in caves and never completed above Monfol, in Bergà, and near the Gad where you will also see, outside the Park borders, the big antitank trench of Ponte Ventoso.
