GruBrìa was born on 19 December 2019 from the union of the two parks "Grugnotorto Villoresi" and "Brianza Centrale", from which it takes the name.
It is joined by 10 municipalities: Bovisio Masciago, Desio, Lissone, Muggiò, Nova Milanese, Seregno and Varedo (in the province of Monza and Brianza) Paderno Dugnano, Cinisello Balsamo, Cusano Milanino (in the Metropolitan City of Milan).
It extends over more than 2,000 hectares of land, with a surface area that is not always homogeneous, often inserted between the few remaining open spaces between northern Milan and central Brianza. In one of the most urbanised territories in Europe, it is essential to preserve and protect these spaces with ecological and landscape redevelopment projects. Interventions with woods, rows of trees, paths, canals, bodies of water, and public parks currently serve 350,000 inhabitants.
