Starting from the hospital in Petralia Sottana, following the Regia Trazzera used by shepherds to herd cattle from Petralia to Castelbuono, after 30 minutes you will reach the San Brancato bridge, a Romanesque humpback bridge which crosses the Mandarini stream. From the bridge, continue along the road that climbs up to Pizzo di S. Otiero, a geological site with fossils and the remains of ancient columns from the "Lumachella" stone quarry from which the twelve monolithic columns of the Mother Church of Petralia Sottana were made.
