Portella Colla-Piano Cervi-Vallone Nipitalva Trail

From Portella Colla, it represents a meeting point if you come from Piano Battaglia, Piano Zucchi, and Quacella. Go ahead along a dirt road, and you will find yourself in a thick forest of Beech trees, Maples, Field Maples, Downy Oaks, and Hollies. After crossing Cozzo Piombino slopes (1,620m above sea level) after about 2 kilometers you will find the beautiful green plateau surrounded by a beech tree forest and Piano Cervi Lake. The sheet of water offers the visitors one of the most beautiful views in the Park. The area gives the opportunity to observe several butterflies. After about 1.5 km you will find a barn with the nearby C.A.S. mountain hut, and farther on Cozzo Morto marks the end of the uphill path. Downhill you will find "Mastro Peppino's House" up to Vallone Nipitalva, one of the most amazing panoramic points of Madonie.
