It is a tiring route whose beauty will repay the effort of the visitor facing the hike. From Petralia Sottana, take the road S.P. 54 in the direction of Piano Battaglia, by leaving the hospital on the right. On the left a carriage road begins and after 1 km. it reaches Ponte di Pietra (945m above sea level), an old charming structure. Then the path becomes narrow (the pilgrims' path) and the uphill stretch leading to the mountain begins. After a 4 km walk, the path reaches Madonna dell'Alto Sanctuary (1,819m above sea level). After reaching the sacred building dating back to the year 1450 and characterized by simple and beautiful lines, you will be amazed by the vast surrounding landscape.
