Mont Avic Park includes the middle-high valley of the stream Chalamy (1,000m - 3,185m). More than a third of the protected area is covered by a large forest of hooked pines, Scotch pines, larches, and beeches. The area is characterized by the presence of over 30 stretches of water and a number of peatbogs. The latter are populated by an extremely interesting relict flora. The fauna includes numerous species typical of the Alps, some of which are endangered or extremely localized.
