Lago Salso Nature Sanctuary and Frattarolo Nature Reserve

This publication deals with the fauna and flora of the wetlands present in the countryside of the Municipality of Manfredonia (Lago Salso Nature Sanctuary and Frattarolo Nature Reserve).
The international importance of Sipontine Marshes is demonstrated by the establishment of a Special Protection Area and the proposal for the establishment of a Site of Community Importance. Moreover, the area has been included by LIPU among the IBAs (Important Bird Areas) officially recognized by the European Union.
