The trail crosses the foothills of Mount Amandola and passes beside the ancient abbey of Saints Vincenzo and Anastasio now restored and inhabited by Franciscan monks under a vow of silence. Around the base of Mount Priora the trail overlooks the valleys of the Ambro and the Tenna, characterized by deep canyons of limestone carved out by water erosion.
