Environmental Education in Pollino National Park
Environmental Education represents both a commitment and an opportunity involving all the social actors, who should settle goals, strategies, and integrated actions aiming at producing a cultural growth in our society leading to the recognition of clarifying values and concepts. Such values promote the acquisition of skills, behaviors, and attitudes necessary to understand and appreciate the relationship of interdependence existing between man, the cultural space, and the environment.
The challenge is to practice Environmental Education activities able to meet the need of interdisciplinary approaches and to face the complexity and uncertainty of a world which is not only a natural, but also a cultural world.
Pollino National Park Authority, with its scheduled Environmental Education activities, demonstrates the will to meet the needs of the territory in order to inform about, enhance, and promote the safeguard of the environment and the traditional cultural values of the territory.
