Hannibal’s battle at the entrance of Grumentum

The Val d'Agri was the scene of important battles during the Second Punic War. Even Hannibal, the greatest condottiere of all time, the one who, more than any other strategist, managed to combine the main virtues of the Greek hero, namely aretè, courage, typical of Achilles and Ajax, and mètis, or intelligence, but also cunning and quick thinking, of knowing how to adapt to situations, a main characteristic of Ulysses, was a protagonist of some of the war events.
