Environmental Education Programme, School Years 2020/2023
The Lura Stream Valley Park Consortium and the Sources of Lura Stream propose, for the school years 2020/2023, various educational courses aimed at schools in the area, in collaboration with Koinè Cooperativa Sociale Onlus of Novate Milanese (MI).
The environmental education activities are aimed at schools of all levels and diversified into kindergartens, primary schools, lower and upper secondary schools.
The new environmental education project entitled "Uniti per Natura" (Together for Nature) offers, for the kindergartens, a teachers training on the theme of educating in nature, facilitating teachers' autonomy in planning activities in the Park for their classes.
Primary and secondary school classes are instead involved in an annual competition for the design and realisation of a theme game that develops one of the 8 themes, described here below, linked to the features of the Park's territory.
The activities with the classes are developed in courses divided into:
- Teacher training, during which teachers receive theoretical information, tools and materials to start the course with the class.
- Outings in the Park, a fundamental moment to collect information, suggestions and data useful for the realisation of the final product.
- Classroom meeting, during which the class is accompanied to the realisation of the final product.
Secondary schools will be given the opportunity to create information panels on the Park to be placed in the territory of the Consortium's municipalities, creating a convergence of objectives with the work of the other schools, both primary and secondary.
In agreement with the teachers, it will be possible to activate Course for Transversal Competences and Orientation (Percorsi per Competenze Trasversali e l'Orientamento - CTO).
How to access the service
For schools in the Consortium's municipalities, the courses are free of charge while the number of hours available last. One educator is guaranteed for every 25 people and, in any case, one educator for every class. Dates and appointments are agreed upon with the Koinè secretariat, while the location of the outing is agreed upon during the training.
In case of rain, the educators will contact the teacher on the morning of the outing to agree on a postponement or an alternative activity. In case of cancellation, the communication is to be made at least 24 hours in advance.
