Parco Sorgenti del Torrente Lura

A watercourse of the minor hydrographic network, the Antiga torrent rises between the municipalities of Olgiate Comasco and Solbiate con Cagno, crosses Oltrona San Mamette and flows into the Bozzente torrent at Mozzate, after about 15 kilometres. With the exception of its final stretch, where the presence of water is constant due to the effluents of the purification plants, the stream is often dry because the springs at the head cannot supply sufficient water. Due to the civil and industrial exploitation of the irrigation ditches and the elimination of the headwaters, the Antiga has had even more dry periods since the 1970s.
